The cute things my son did today!

Im sorry that I dont have any pictures of these cute things. Instead I will just post very random, yet funny, pictures.
So here are just a few of the cute things my son did today:
  1. I laid him down to change his diaper and unzipped his pjs *cue the strip music* Bum-ba-bum-ba-Ba-da-da-da-dum! Anyway, I unzipped him and pulled his little legs out to change his diaper and he tried to help me undress him by pulling on his sleeves and trying to get his arms out. It was adorable.
  2. After realizing that this wasnt his star strip-tease moment (sorry ladies), Benjamin grabbed his leg and pulled it right up against his face until I was cleaning his mess. It was adorable!
  3. While I was doing my WiiFit routine (Yay me!), Ben tried to drink from a closed, empty 2 liter bottle. It was adorable!
  4. Also while I was doing my WiiFit routine (Yay me!), Ben tried to drink from a closed, almost empty orange juice bottle. However, this time he managed to open it and chew on the lid for a few seconds before daddy caught him. It was adorable!
  5. I was holding Ben while I was faceboo---ahem---I mean watching the incredibly interesting Superbowl. At the same time I was attempting to keep Ben away from the plate of fried corn nuggets that was nearby. (Dont ask me why I didnt just move them, because I dont want to make an excuse for my lack of thought process!) Ben waited until the right moment and then lunged and grabbed one! I thought it was so smart that I let him keep it! It was adorable!
  6. After the game, we were cleaning up and Iva was holding Ben. She happened to hold him near an unopened soda can and since he had been watching all of us do it all evening, what did he try to do? But of course! He tried to drink from the can. Nothing came out and he could not figure out why! It was adorable!
  7. Finally, Ben was sitting on the counter while I was making an awesome football cake (more on that later). He was playing with the mustard bottle that was for the deviled eggs and was very interested in its lid. I did not realize why. Soon he was, of course, sucking on the tip trying to get things out! Eventually he did and he made THE BEST SOUR FACE EVER!!! It was so cute, but so fast that I wasnt able to get my dumb slow camera to take a picture in time. But, it gets better. The genius that my son is, he tried one more time but quickly remembered how that ended and refused to go near that bottle the rest of the night! It was adorable!
Now, let me tell you folks lest you think that I am depriving my son of liquids or food, we are ALWAYS trying to get Ben to drink something, especially this week since he was so dehydrated. We give him A LOT of food! He eats all stinkin day! This little boy is a bottomless pit! However, he is the most adorable bottomless pit with curls that you have ever seen!

Our Dream Home

As our minds turn towards the future of moving to New Orleans and buying a house soon after, David and I (but especially David) cant help but imagine, design, and create floor plans for our dream home. David soon discovered that it was easier to steal ideas from other floor plans and start searching. And then, he found IT. The dream home of dream homes. This is (almost) ideal for us. It is our home in 20 years after careful saving and David becoming the CEO of a booming company. :) The only change that we would make is that the 2 bedrooms off the kitchen would have their own entrance/exit to the house so that we could have missionaries live there. The 2nd floor would be for visiting family and my amazing parents to live in! We would either build an elevator or they could have an escalator type thing. :) So, here it is:

Late night sentimentality

So its late and Im feeling emotional and sentimental. So what else is there to do but blog? Late nights are my most vulnerable times. I could have had the perfect day, but catch late in the evening on my own and all sorts of insecurities, extreme romanticism, or completely random resentment will pop up. Tonight Im erring on the side of gooey lovey dovey happiness While I am in the mood for it, I will blog about my favorite people.

First and foremost in my mind is always my dearest love, my drummer, my kemosabe, and my main comedian. My Dabid. He is my best friend that I am blessed enough to have as my Eternal companion (A blog coming on that topic later). He lightens my day with a single phrase. He lets me sleep in when I have no right to. He doesnt notice when Im angry for a silly, silly reason. He has style where I lack, but still asks for my advice in many others. He thinks Im pretty and reminds me often. He snores louder than I do so that I dont feel bad. I am constantly surprised at how much we think alike and how well we know each other. I keep waiting for his humor and amazing-ness to get old, but he surprises me daily. At the risk of sounding the age that I am so often told that I look, he was made for me.

And now for my best friend that I am blessed enough to have as my mother, Merf. She is the one I call atleast 5 times a day for every tiny little detail that occurs in my life. I call her every time I cook to get advice. I call her every time I get in the car. And if Im not calling her, then we talked on Yahoo, Facebook, or Farmtown. If I had my way, David, Joe, and Ben would all get jobs in Ft Worth and we`d all live on Jeppson Rd. with Rachel Lewis living across the street. But, of course, I would live the closest to mom so that I could be the favorite. :) Most of my good traits I get from her and I treasure the bad ones that I received as well. She taught me to be smart, to be practical, to have fun, to plan and to LOVE parties for the planning opportunities that they offer, and to be good mom. Shes practically perfect in every possible way and I---ee---I----ee---I will alwa----ys lo----ooo---ve yo---oo--oo--oo-ooooo! And I will always love you!

WARNING! Time for another cheesy phrase. Sisters by chance, friends by choice.

My best friend that I am also blessed enough to have as a sister, Click. I annoyed the heck out of her when we were little girls because I was always claiming we were the same age or trying to hang out with her and her friends, but my only regret is that we live so far apart now. I enjoy our almost daily phone calls about our babies. I love our Grrrr moments and how we are able to commiserate with each other. I have been truly blessed enough to find a best friend in my sister and a sister in my best friend.

My best friend that I am blessed enough to STILL have as a best friend. I am not near good enough at remembering to call her or talk to her on facebook as often as I should, but I love that the moment we start talking, its like we never stopped. She is the absolute most loving, caring, and forgiving person that I have ever met. She comes from a family of incredible people and is starting her newly married life with an amazing man. We met in 5th grade and have been sisters posing as friends ever since. I dont think we have ever gotten into a fight or disagreement, not because Im that good (because heavens knows that I am not the nicest person in the world) but because she is so sweet. I miss my Rach, but I look forward to the day where we live close to each other and sit in our rocking chairs on one of our porchs and watch our grandchildren play.

Finally, my newest best friend but the one I know the absolute most about...Benjamin!

He is my pride and my joy and my frustration. I hate it when hes sick and love it when he walks around having conversations, laughing at everything I say, and running into walls with blankets on his head. My newest favorite thing is that he gives hugs now. He will walk straight up to me like a mummy with his head thrown back and his arms straight out and give me a hug. Its the sweetest thing. There is nothing that can make me change my emotions faster than Ben's crying or laughing. I love him dearly and cherish every single moment.

And now folks is the moment right before I go to sleep when my husband is (finally) going to bed and my mood has turned a bit melancholy. So I will be a not-so-cryptic cryptic. Good luck in reading this message.
I ache and I ponder and I wonder. I am confused and trying to be patient. I am trying to trust but finding it harder and harder every day. And now I really must stop.
And now, goodnight to all!
